Flare jeans and groovy patterns are not the only way the ’70s is filtering back into denim fashion.

Lucky Brand, owned by Authentic Brands Group, inked a deal with Yoki Fashion, a full-service company that designs, manufactures, and distributes footwear, to design, produce and distribute Lucky Brand roller skates.

The collection, which will launch at specialty retailers and online across the U.S. and Canada this summer, will offer skates for men, women and children.

“ABG’s partnership with Yoki Fashion further diversifies Lucky Brand’s expansive lifestyle offering, appealing to the skater community across generations,” said Jarrod Weber, AGB group president lifestyle, chief brand officer.

Yoki Fashion stepped into the skate category in 2020. By leveraging its established footprint and expertise in footwear, the company applies current trends to roller skate designs. Kheder Mamrout, Yoki Fashion president, said the Lucky Brand collection will feature “bold logos, floral prints and washed denims that align with the brand’s DNA.”

Since it became one of the several nostalgic pandemic hobbies embraced by millennial and Gen Z consumers, fashion brands have ramped up their efforts to tap into the roller-skating revival. Bottega Veneta sold a sneaker-inspired leather skate for $2,100, while retailers like Altar’d State and Urban Outfitters have added colorful retro skate to their sales floors. A rink at JFK Airport’s TWA Hotel was a main attraction at Diesel’s Pride party last year, and Saks Fifth Avenue unveiled windows dedicated to Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace, a rink that recently opened at Rockefeller Center.

“Our goal is to provide customers with outstanding products to enjoy while creating memories,” Kheder added.
