Grappone knocked off Colby-Sawyer, 10-9, in a back-and-forth contest to take over first place in the Sunset baseball league standings. Jani Cruz (two hits, four RBI) and Max Lewis (two hits, two RBI) paced the Charger offense. Jake Choiniere, Tyler Wright and Griffin Wheeler each reached base three times.

The 10U Concord Little League All-Stars defeated Suncook, 16-6, to earn a berth in the N.H. District 2 playoffs. Lars Fjeldsted pitched well for Concord by recording six strikeouts on two-plus innings of work. Offensively, Concord was led by Patrick Fennessey (3-for-4, two runs), Leo MacBride (2-foro-4, two triples, three runs), Nicky Mercier (3-for-3, three runs), Harrison Beecher (2-for-3, double, 1 run), Lars Fjeldsted (2-for-3, two runs) and Tucker Kirshneur (3-for-3, tw0 runs).

The No. 2 seeded Concord Little League 11-12 All-Stars opened tournament play at home against No. Rye Little League with a 5-1 win. Concord was able to break a scoreless tie in the third inning after three consecutive hits from Tyler Peterson, Chase Connor and Rhys Craigue started a three-run rally. Concord added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to extend its lead to 5-0. Henry Thresher pitched a very efficient 4.1 innings, allowing no runs, one hit, and striking out eight. Concord will next play Portsmouth, the No. 1 seed in the District 2 tournament.

Rundlett Middle School girls’ volleyball open gym will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-6:30 p.m. on Aug. 1-17 in the RMS gym. This is for all players in grades 6-8, from brand new players interested in learning to returning players working skills. Wear sneakers and bring water.

Roller skating hours at Douglas N. Everett Arena will be Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 6-9 p.m. Roller skating will only be available for a limited time through July 31. Admission will be $5 with skate rentals available, if needed, for an additional $5 at the Pro Shop. Book a private roller skating event for a birthday party, field trip or rainout event.
